What is your favorite neighborhood in Riga?

In Riga's Old Town, you can experience the unique atmosphere. Take a stroll and enjoy the small shops, restaurants and bakeries in the tiny streets. You can bicycle in the nice Summer eve or enjoy a local beer from one of the local breweries in the beer garden. In case you want to escape from the bustling city life, it takes you only 20 minutes to reach the lake. Add another 10 minutes and you are by the sea with its great white sandy beaches. Here, one can enjoy smoked fish... hmm.. RIga and Latvia is great :) If you'd like to prefer to stay in Riga, but want to escape from the city life, you can visit one of the many parks in Riga. We are a very green country, and try to think green in all aspects possible. :)

How would you describe a perfect day in your city?

It really doesn't matter if it's raining or not, it's always nice to be here. Make sure however that you have appropriate clothes for the day. Wake up in the morning - have a rich breakfast at the hotel, go for a walk in the Old Town or rent a Segway to drive along with in the city. You can also choose to see the richness and quality of the Art Noveau district. Riga is famous for its 19-th century wooden architecture, and we have thousands of travellers who come specifically for the beautiful architecture. Sigulda, the so called, Latvian Switzerland is worth a visit of its own. Here you can visit the medieval castles or do a hiking tour in the nature. This place has a lot of activities to offer for example bobsleigh run. It's great fun - around 90 km per hour! :) There's a great place to have a lunch - Sigulda Kungu Rija. When you're back in city, walk to the Andrejosta by the Riga port and have a drink during the sunset. For the dinner, we suggest our TOP restaurants - GARAGE and 3CHEFS. Great atmosphere and excellent food and wines guaranteed! Riga as a city offers an exciting range of chic restaurants in stunning contemporary and historic venues.
